Her research is in the area of cultural anthropology with specific interests in tourism, national identity, racial and gender constructions, popular cultural practices, and critiques of capitalism. Great for Anthropology/ Sociology

This book is wonderful for an anthropology/sociology course. I was required to purchase this text and I will reread it many times because of the level of detail. I think Roland's main arguments are well stated. In addition, the book is short, easy to read, and points the reader in the correct direction at all times (I.e. subheadings, convulsions at the end of every chapter,great reference dictionary in the back, etc). The reader is left with a wide understanding of the issue and an appropriate historical and current understanding of the conflict at hand.

The vivid writing of Lahaye and Jenkins makes it possible to visually put yourself into the scene and almost experience the subject matter firsthand.
If you are a believer and have not read any of these books, you are not doing yourself justice. These are great writings and do a great job of bringing the Word of God to life in a new and vibrant manner.

Christ Clone Trilogy is SO MUCH BETTER

I stopped reading this series after #4 (Soul Harvest). I kept reading Left Behind hoping it would get better. It didn't. I also read (actually started reading) We All Fall Down, but there the foul language was SO EXCESSIVE I couldn't keep going. Finally I read the books of The Christ Clone Trilogy (why do I feel like Goldilocks here?) and it was "just right!" Actually it was GREAT! So if you're tired of Buck and Rayford playing James Bond, and all the females in the LB world cooing, have a look at The Christ Clone Trilogy.

It's Going to Happen

To all those criticizing the writing style, you're missing the point. For years, men have ignored the Book of all time. LaHaye and Jenkins have woven a story of intrigue that would reach all ages and levels of intelligence. But the bigger picture is that they're telling the story in modern-day terms because the days are short. This has made the book of Revelation live for me as never before and I was raised in the church. I'm sure it has gotten the attention of many who are re-thinking their values and getting their lives in order. A big thank you to the authors for making it so plain!

Patrick Smith’s professional life has been spent teaching and facilitating learning and development in a range of settings, both formal and informal in schools, colleges and universities in the UK and abroad. In recent years his interests have centred on aspects of work-based learning and development within Buckinghamshire New University. By far the best world history textbook I've come across. Offers a unified voice and coherent narrative throughout. Excellent geographic coverage, with much more than most textbooks on sub-Saharan Africa, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia. Integrates cultural, social, environmental, gender, diplomatic, and economic history clearly and concisely. Boxed text provide fun primary sources and probing questions, but still fit into the larger themes of each chapter without feeling like add-ons. Highly recommended.

I said the same thing when going through volume 1 of this book but these Panorama World History books are terrible. If you end up with an instructor who doesn't help clarify the information in this textbook you're going to be a world of hurt trying to learn and retain what is in this book. It's like trying to make sense of a jigsaw puzzle that has no solution.

Really beautiful and inspiring

I loved the story. It took my breath away and felt good all over after reading it. There were many twists and turns which worried me a bit but also kept me reading more. I loaned it to my daughter to read because it was so inspiring and beautiful. There were grammatical errors which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. It should be 5 stars though. The cursing didn't bother me because it just shows where the character was at and honest about it. If we can all be honest for a second, we will admit we've said some really raunchy stuff in our heads every now and again. I personally don't use cuss words but I know I say them in my head! It's just a beautiful story of how one woman was strong and held on to her hopes and dreams despite what life threw at her. The story has a powerful and uplifting message to live life to the fullest and with no regrets!

This book was pretty bad, luckily it was free when I bought it. The storyline was interesting at first but it was kinda hard to get over the grammar issues. The cursing was not so bad in the first few chapters but after that it was really really bad. I wouldn't recommend it.

With the help of her very reserved maidservant, Lalasa, Kel manages to surmount all the challenges that nature throws at her. The third Protector book describes Kel's next four years in training. Her new knight-master, Raoul of GoldenLake and Malorie's Peak and Commander of the King's Own, is as different from her original master, Lord Wyldon, as a man could be. He introduces Kel to a new way of life, one that's as much fun as it is challenging. The last book in the series describes Kel's first appearance as a Knight of the Realm. War with the neighboring country of Scanra is declared at last, and Kel finds herself in charge of a refugee camp. LOVE these books!!

I love love love Tamora Pierce, and this might be my favorite set of hers.There is something about Kaladry that I just love. There are a few glitches in the E-book which is why I only gave it four stars, and the price for the set is not discounted at all from buying the four books individually. I wish that there was a complete Tamora Pierce E-book set, where I could get a discount on ALL of her books, or that the bundle of the four books in a particular set were a little bit less than buying each one by itself, but these books are good enough and I wanted them on my Kindle badly enough, that I spent the money. I still don't understand why an E-book is as expensive as a paperback copy.

Read the books, but don't buy this edition!

The Protector of the Small books have been some of my favourites since I was given Page in my first year of middle school. I love everything about Kel and her friends and I tell everyone I can to give them a chance. Keladry is a compassionate, level-headed, determined young woman and it was a pleasure to grow up with her.

That having been said, do not buy this bundle if you're a stickler for formatting. I have never seen an ebook with worse formatting than this one. Paragraph breaks and scene changes have been eaten, quotation marks have been changed to apostrophes, and italics have gone the way of the dodo.

There are also a handful of pretty egregious typos. The one that immediately comes to mind and is therefore probably the most blatant is Keladry's mother "Illane of Mindelan's" name is somehow misspelled as "Dane of Mindelan" on one occasion in First Test. None of these errors have been fixed since I purchased this edition in October of 2014, which is why I'm finally leaving this review.

In short I would not recommend this edition to anyone until they get someone in here to fix the truckload of errors. I have no idea if the single books are any better, but don't get this one.
