Book was good but there was a lot of spelling mistakes they really needed to use spell check. Enjoyed the plot line and the characters. I love hall Jana Leigh's books I have read.

I read all of the Denver Pack Series and some were great while others were just more of the same. This is a continuation of that series and includes the shifters and humans which makes it easy to follow. One of my biggest problems with some of the other books was really bad grammar, spelling and in one book there were several pages which were just blank spots. I am only telling you this because this one was so much better in that aspect. I really liked Cat's Choice. It was slightly different with the new human and one of her mates was a surprise. All of that made it enjoyable and still fun. As always in this series, the sex was great and it has a good story. I am going to get the second one now and hope it's as good. What I really did enjoy was all the different types of shifters in the entire series.

A shocker

This book is a dreadful mix of repetitive, redundant code chunks and a strained chatty style of writing. It will leave most readers determined never to go near XML again. Indeed, nowhere in the book are reasons why you would wish to use it. But worse is that the book focuses on Internet Explorer exclusively, including Active-X and Microsoft's non-standard brand of the DOM. Under the aegis of XHTML Transitional it introduces beginners to the likes of the "popular" tag with all its long-deprecated attributes, not to mention many other deprecated tags, inline JavaScript event handlers, and other aspects more suited to the state of markup in 1999 than to 2009 - the year of publication.

During the course of the book there is no signal to the reader that this or that code approach is proprietary and not standard. If beginners wish to learn standards-compliant, interoperable code and where and why you might want to deploy it, they should give this book a wide berth.

No real help for XQuery

With "Go Beyond the Basics with ... XQuery" in its title, I was hoping the book would provide details on how to use XQuery. Unfortunately, the book devotes only six pages to the subject, almost three of which are just a list of functions (i.e., no actual analysis or demonstrations on how to use them). I have not reviewed the rest of the book, but if you're looking for help with XQuery, this is not the source.

Good book on XML

I found the book easy to read and informative. The code is simple but get the point across. The writing style is conversational, but I like that in a book. Moreover, it is not Microsoft centric as some have suggested. I have read over a dozen XML books and I found that this was the best one so far.

Beware: no kindle cloud reader access for computers.

This is a useful text, with good information that is well presented;however, the kindle version is restricted from being used in the amazon kindle cloud reader. For a student who uses multiple computer lab stations, this is almost a deal breaker. Most lab stations do not allow installation of any third part software, which is the only way to use the book on a computer. It is available on most tablets that can download the amazon kindle app, but these are not always ideal for reading some of the small text. The kindle version will be worthy of a 5 star rating when it becomes available on the kindle cloud reader app.

This book was for use in my business communications course. It seems to be very informative, unbiased, and simple to understand and follow. If you've ever looked at improving your business communications skills or improving your leadership capabilities, this book will definitely set you on the right track.

Really nice Family Organizer

Have always used Amy Knapp's Big Grid Wall Calendar, this year decided to try out her 2016-2017 Family Organizer instead of the wall calendar.

So far I'm really liking my purchase. Love the front pocket. Love the Menu planning column on the side for each week, really going to help me out, as well as the Grocery list column. Many times I'll plan what I'm going to make, go shopping for the ingredients and then forget what I had originally planned to cook later on in the week. Now, I can check my organizer! Love having a new verse a week too!

Not sure I'll use the Prayer & Praise section only because I have a separate journal I use for that already so I won't double up here.

One minor thing that might be helpful is to include the months of August-December of 2016 all on one page in a monthly view, helps with school year planning purposes. Towards the front there is a page with all 12 months of the 2017 year and 12 months of the 2018 year. Towards the back there is a page with just 12 months of the 2018 year.

Have used these for many years. There's plenty of space to write things, the layout is clear and consistent, one Bible verse per week is very nice, & serrated pages make list making easy.
