Excellent insights and great delivery

As a therapist I'm often confronted with this issue. Ekman captures the ideas I work very hard to get men to understand. She does it in an enjoyable, easy to understand way. I think it really helps that the book comes from a woman's perspective. I've recommended it to several clients and I'm sure I'll recommend it to more.

The good is very good, but it's not all good, buy it anyway!!!

This one is a little hard to rate. I think this book is an editing away from 5 stars. First off it's written for men but written in a style better suited for women. If there was collaberation with a male simply to clarify some of the points and make them less touchy feely it would have been more effective. As such if you're a man's man skip chapters 9 and 12. As written I think those muddy the presentation and probably do more harm than good. Still about a third of the book is enlightening that I felt it was a must read. The book gives the insight as to how to approach from a position of strength while appealing to your woman's emotions relationally. And that's really the magic of this book. That right there breaks barriers and starts the process. I think pairing this with No More Mr. Nice Guy! would be great, to really get the tools to strengthen your inner game and bring greater strength and certainty to the process. Hope this helps.

the five love languages and Wanting sex

Apparently my problems are more deep-seated. I have tried the complimenting, nostalgia, courting,seduction, patience and self-assertion techniques. All failed. Clearly my wife and I are in for the long dry summer. It's been ten patient years out of twenty-two married she has been this way. I have read this book, The Sex starved marriage (3 times), she comes first, the five love languages and Wanting sex, all without success. Most have very simplistic hopeful views of "she loves you, work on it and it will get better". This is not always the case. She does love me, but the best book is the five love Languages. It tells me to give up on this idea of the kind of marriage we had. Respect her, which I do, infinitely, but become content with a marriage evolved.
